Sacred Heart Catholic School is located in the city of Salisbury on a new 100+ acre campus, right off of Jake Alexander Blvd and across from the Crescent Golf Community. It serves students preK through 8th grades, with separate elementary and middle schools. It is NC State Certified and AdvancED/SACS-CASI District Accredited. All children are welcome at Sacred Heart! Currently about 40% of the student population are non-Catholic.
Sacred Heart has been serving students for almost 130 years (since 1882) and opened its new campus and facilities in 2009 with a 21st Century classroom design to follow The Partnership for the 21st Century Skills and IMPACT Models. Sacred Heart offers advanced curriculum daily in language arts, math, science, social studies and computer technology with weekly art, music and spanish classes. Daily breakout classrooms are offered for additional small group instruction in language arts and math (teacher to student ratio is 1:15 maximum). All curriculums are based on the NC Standard Course of Study and are enhanced and extended by Charlotte Diocesan school standards. Competitive athletic programs are available for girls and boys in grades 4th-8th grades including soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, cheerleading, golf, softball, cross country and track/field (track and field is open to 1st - 8th grades). Hot lunches are prepared for students daily. Onsite after school care is available until 6pm.
